  1. How does one clear attachment pictures out of the My Attachment file ?
  2. The process of finding out the root word from the search query is referred as keywords stemming.
  3. The forum was working as normal early this morning, but when I just came back I'm getting security warnings telling me that the connection to the site is unsecured. This is on a Linux setup using either Chrome or Vivaldi. Just to confuse matters the page formatting just went bosoms up. What's going on ?
  4. I use this to back up my e mails in Thunderbird. After "Backing Up" I have never tried to asses the file, if that's the correct terminology. But today I tried & found that I could not enter the file. I got a message "What do you want to do with this file"? Open/Save/Save as. I clicked on "Open" Then got a screen stating "View Downloads" & asking if I want to save it Question, what am I doing wrong. Thanks
  5. You can check First. sc \\servername query If it gives you error (Access denied) means you need to set the required permission for user. Also You should allow WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) Port -135 in Firewall exception of Remote computer, for which you want to manage services. Also, you can do via cmd (run as admin) - sc \\servername start ServiceName (start or stop) Hope it will help.. Thanks,
  6. How to Take backup of All of the Databases available on instance ? Sometimes Its required to take all of the Databases to be backed up periodically for more reliable backup process. If You require to get backup of any critical server's Database then You shouldn't do manually always, It will be better to automate the Process.SQL Query to take backup for All the Databases:- DECLARE @name VARCHAR(50) -- database name DECLARE @path VARCHAR(256) -- path for backup files DECLARE @fileName VARCHAR(256) -- filename for backup DECLARE @fileDate VARCHAR(20) -- used for file name-- specify database ba
  7. Anybody else using linux Mint 17 ? I've been using 13 on a netbook for some time but when I had main PC problems recently I decided I hated Windows 8 so much I got a cheap mini PC and loaded Mint 17 Cinamon, it seems easy to use blindingly fast and as with many Linux distros chucks in much of what you'll need re browsers office suites etc for free.
  8. When I look at pictures in this library each picture is followed by a Blank image with a title that includes the preceding picture number and then JPG.m odd. What are these for? Assume I just leave them there as they do not appear on CD's I make? Looking at this in a bit more detail if I click right on these blank files it says they are "MODD" files & they were all created today when I installed the Sony software for putting pictures onto the computer. But it raises the questions What purpose are they? Should I get rid of them? If so how other than a one by one delete!
  9. If you are in query design, in the sql view, can you do "find & replace" for the text in the query itself? I've done internet searches for this and it keeps returning info about finding an replacing data in the database, which I do not want to do. The reason I need find and replace in the query text itself, is that I have copied queries from one database to another. The table structure is exactly the same, but of course, the databases have different names. What would be even better than the above is a find & replace tool which would quickly search through all your queries and
  10. I have a spare 64 bit PC and I accidentally installed the 32 bit version of Windows 7 on it (although the installation didn't complete due to a read/write error) but have now successfully installed the 64 bit version. The hard drive itself has been wiped of the failed installation but I still have the defunct entry on boot up on the dual boot screen. Does anyone know a safe way of deleting the unwanted entry ? I want to get rid of it because both entries are listed as 'Windows 7' and so it's confusing and if I accidentally select the wrong entry, I get an error message ! Cheers.
  11. Some short time ago,in answer to a query, some kind person posted a program to set up the picture on the screen. It involved pictures of a man in a white shirt, to set contrast and brightness, a series of vertical grey stripes to set green blue and red, and various other settings. Unfortunately I have lost the post. Can someone please point me in the right direction again. I would be very grateful.
  12. I don't know how it's happened as I have never installed Google Chrome but for some reason it is showing in the Quick Launch bar (below): Any idea how I can get rid of the icon ? Cheers for any advice.
  13. I've seen a SSD drive in action (my mate has just bought one) and now I want one ! Crikey they are fast with Windows 7 only taking a few seconds to load :0 I'm still running the 64 bit version of Vista Home Premium and I'm wondering if it would be better to install Windows 7 on the new SSD drive ? I bought the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium almost 2 years ago when there was a promotion on and I still haven't installed it yet :D Also, as I want to keep my existing Vista set-up, does anyone know if there would be any problems with a conventional hard drive running Vista and a S
  14. Yesterday I finally got round to installing Windows 7 on my new SSD drive - wow what an improvement in loading times ! Anyway, let's say if my Vista installation failed (installed on a conventional hard drive), would I still be able to load Windows 7 (on the SSD drive) or would both operating systems be unavailable to me ? I'm asking because a hard drive did fail on me a few years ago and so it does happen. Back then I was foolish and didn't make backups. Just curious.
  15. Heya Guys/Gals. Trying to find an answer to this one for sometime now. :( Firstly is it possible to get the start time of process in task manager i.e. when it began, via the command line or .bat file and if so how would you go about it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
  16. Just moved to live mail from OE6 with OE, when getting emails from ISP there is a window which comes to the front showing progress .. this function is there in live mail, but it doesnot come forward .. can I make it do so?
  17. I am at present putting together a box from a miscellany of compatable bits, but one thing that I do not have is the quaint punched out shiny metal pressing that fills in the gaps round the plugs/connectors at the back of the box. It looks to me as though its main purpose maybe to prevent the ingress of mice and gerbils, but it just might perform an "earthing" type function. Can anyone shed any light on this, please?
  18. I have an ASUS VW192s LCD monitor and have had it for well over a year. On one or two occasions in the past there has been evident a slight discrepancy in the aspect ratio of screen image v printed image, and I had put this down to manually fiddling with the image prior to printing by using "handles". However today I printed out a picture of a steam railway engine which had only been shrunk by means of the linked vertical and horizontal pixel method in the GIMP control panel. After printing the firebox door was oval and management (standing beside the engine) was very thin. So I downloaded a
  19. Being the Luddite that I am, I have no real interest in mobile 'phones, but, since management feels more secure if she has one with her when she is out and about on her own, we have one . Following the debacle with the car a couple of days ago we decided that we should have one which could not just take 'photos that could be despatched into the ether, but one which would down load the 'photos to a PC. We have kindly been offered such a thing, but I have a problem. We are currently on Orange “pay as you go” with our present 'phone and the offered 'phone is “unlocked”. Now I am aware that unloc
  20. I've recently bought myself a new Vista PC and I was wondering if anyone knows if you can buy a smaller version of my current IDE cable that I'm using in the old PC (this one) as the new PC's case only has one cradle so I don't need a third connector and it will improve airflow in my case? I'm not sure if it's possible as there's usually a master and slave device on each IDE channel Thanks.
  21. I have recently bought a new 64 bit Vista PC as my current PC is 7 years old and crashing randomly - it's probably because of it's age as it isn't overheating (I checked) After seeing this thread, it reminded me that Acronis is much praised on WF. I was going to buy a copy of it from ebuyer but the reviews aren't that good as apparently there is trouble with serial numbers? Does anyone use Acronis on a 64 bit Vista PC and are there really any serial number problems? The 2 reviewers were using Windows XP so the problems might be limited to that O/S and might not happen with Vista? If anyon
  22. I know that my CRT monitor is a few years old but over the last few months a strange red and green line diagonal line shows up but only on a dark background and never on a light background It's quite difficult to see in a camera shot but when sitting in front of the monitor it's quite noticeable! Any idea of what it could be and is it normal for an aging CRT monitor? Cheers. p.s. I don't recall seeing this 'feature' when the monitor was new
  23. I have to send a lot of emails but mostly to about 6 different sets of recipients. Does anyone know if I can create templates with these recipient fields filled in? cheers
  24. I was wondering if some setting has changed on my PC as I can no longer select the option 'Always use the selected program to open this type of file' as it is now blanked out This means that every time I want to play a video file (taken from YouTube) I have to select the VLC player manually and it's rather annoying! Any ideas anyone? Thanks.
  25. In persuit of the cure to the speed test problem outlined in :- http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php?s...mp;#entry265796 I replaced the HD with a new one. The old one was a SATA and so is the new one. My original notion was to put in the new one as an experiment to see if the problem was, as I suspected, a quirky installation of Ubuntu 8. I suspected the inability to use the speed testing sites was all down to a duff installation of Flash. So I put in the new HD and downloaded and installed a new copy of Ubuntu 8 and it seems to have worked. With a new installation of Flash I can use t
